A beautiful State in Malaysia-Sabah

沙巴神山是一個著名的旅遊勝地

Mount Kinabalu
Are you bored with the shopping journey in big cities? Do you want to keep in touch with the natural world? Let's go to Sabah(沙巴) in Malaysia!

Sabah is one of the states in Malaysia, which is the second largest state in the country. It stands at the Northern portion of Borneo. 'Sabah' is an Arabic word meaning Sunrise. It is really a fabulous, beautiful name name, isn't it?

There are many famous attractions in Sabah, one of the examples is Mount Kinabalu (神山). Mount Kinabalu is the highest peak in Borneo's Crocker Range and is the highest mountain in the Malay Archipelago. Apart from its height, it is also prominent due to its biological species biodiversity. There are estimated  5,000 to 6,000 plant species, including those of Himalayan origin.

Besides Mount Kinabalu, Mantanani Island( 美人魚島) is also worth visiting! The water there is clean, that's why people like doing recreational diving there! You can see the abundant and diverse marine life there. At the same time, Mantanani Island is also a popular site for birdwatching as the birds usually nest on the island.
When you are tired after travelling for the whole day, you can take a rest on the soft sand, relaxing in the gentle breeze.

I have been there once! The trip was amazing as the food in Sabah were yummy ! I gained 12 pounds after the journey haha! I will share more about the food in Sabah with you guys later:)

The Mystery Spot-- Santa Cruz, California

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever doubted the theory of the laws of physics and gravity?
Would you believe that there is a place on earth that demonstrates you the phenomenon of violating the general perception towards gravity?

Here it goes! The Mystery Sopt, located in the redwood forest in Santa Cruz of California, is a gravitational anomaly showing you an array of strange events. There were rumours about it from the general public, saying it is a place for the UFO to bury their spacecrafts etc.

It started to attract visitors all over the world to see the spectacular scene, like balls rolling uphill, water flowing upward briskly, and ordinary wood chair clinging to the wall without any support. As long as you can name it, you can find crazy things happening here which can definitely pop your eyes out!

Go discover this awesome place next time if you have got a chance:))

News Report: How Germany is using language courses to attract tourists

SCMP:How Germany is using language courses to attract tourists

Hi everyone! We are not going to introduce any travelling attraction to you all. This time , we have to apply the concepts which we have learnt at the lessons to this news report.

South China Morning Post , which is a public media ( a kind of mediascapes ) ,treats their readers as citizens rather than consumers. Informing readers of current affairs and educating them are undoubtedly the main missions of this publisher, but not entertaining the citizens.

This news is classified as a non-fictional genre of written discourse in mainstream newspapers. It is a discourse which comments on how Germany is using language courses to attract tourists. In the title,
a German word 'Deutsch' is used instead of an English word 'German' .The reason of using two languages in the title is to show the usage of  linguistic diversity , which does not only address to local readers ,but also cater to the needs of a linguistic minority in South China - German speakers.

In the article, the writer states some German sentences for several times. For instance, she has mentioned  'Ich gehe ins Neues Museum '  and there is an English-translated version  of the sentence "I go to the New Museum" beside. This example has already revealed the uses of language mixing as well as code- switching

South China Morning Post can fully utilise different bilingual features and this can fulfil the needs of bilingual readers. It is worth reading!!!
